non-buyer's remorse

do you ever look back at your life, when your having an introspective, reflective moment, and just think:

why the heck didn't i buy that?

at the time, you thought it was too expensive, too impractical, too big for you place, but now, you know that's a big, fat lie and you totally could have made it work, Tim Gunn style. And, in the end, it would of improved your quality of life/street cred/apartment.

that's how i'm feeling about this guy. so much non-buyers remorse.

  1. Oh yeah. I get severe cases of non-buyers remorse quite often. I need to take a lesson from my sister-in-law: buy it now, you can always return it. Instead I usually covet something, visit it in the store even, and then have a full on poutfest when it is no longer available.

  2. yep. usually about the most random things that I spot in a window as i'm passing by, or something like that. things i don't even know whether i actually really liked or not, but manage to convince myself were really beautiful.

you could mail order the bag though, hey? i love those duluth packs, i want one for on my bike...

Mine were glasses. I needed new ones and really wanted a showy Chanel pair. My boyfriend at the time AND the salesperson both convinced me out of it and onto a pair of normal, black, small rectangle frames, saying that I would get sick of the Chanels in no time. Totally not the case, in the end. The next pair are going to be way over the top as a result :)

  4. Last year for my birthday I decided I would splurge and buy this Marc Jacobs cross shoulder purse. My mom even sent me birthday money specifically for it. I pondered buying it for a month and as my birthday approached, I decided I deserved it. When I went to buy it it was GONE. Gone from the store, gone from the internet, GONE! I was so so sad. Why didn't I just buy it when I saw it? So then, last weekend, I walked into the Marc by Marc Jacobs store to find it sitting there again. Same time as last year - my birthday is at the end of the month. So do I buy it now? I still love it. But I kind of have this wedding to pay for instead of buying designer purses. So I'm finding myself right back where I started, a year later...

  6. This always happens to me. Only I can never remember exactly where I saw the item, so I am stuck with my remorse with no way to cure it!

  8. Yeah, I pass on many things. Some so unique that I will never find them again. I think I chicken out and I am not brave enough to take the risk. I am really trying to stick with the philosophy of "Buy what you like and you will always be happy".

  10. Yes! I have this way more than buyer's remorse, since the budget is so tight. Then I stalk them on ebay, etc :)
